Hey Smeeters,
This week, we’re profiling one of our Teen OPs– WildChild.
WildChild is from Lithuania and has been on Smeet for over a year now. She was promoted about 6 months ago to guide and then promoted to Operator 3 months ago. Since then, WildChild has made Teen Smeeters feel welcomed and helped them get acquainted in the community. Here is what she’s said about her Smeet experience:
Smeet: Why did you join Smeet?
WildChild: A friend sent me the Smeet link asking me to check it out. Well I checked it and I really liked it. I’ve made lots of friends here and it seemed nice so I started to use it.
Smeet: There is a lot of slang used on Smeet, both in American and British English. As a non-native English speaker, how have you found it?
WildChild: To be honest, quite difficult. I kept asking people what the slang means and even googled some things.
Smeet: You’re a 16 and, on occassion, a chatroom can be a dangerous place for teen girls. Have you ever felt unsafe here?
WildChild: No, I’ve never felt unsafe here but there are times I didn’t feel good about some things people have said. But since I’m a Teen OP, I never feel unsafe and I feel good when I help other teens and make sure they stay safe as well.
Smeet: What’s your biggest challenge as a Teen OP?
WildChild: My biggest challenge as an OP is to be patient with people who refuse to follow the rules and teach them what they should do here and what they shouldn’t do.
Smeet: Any advice to new Smeeters?
Smeeter is a really nice place and there are a lof of amazing people. So I advise them to be polite and nice to other users and of course, follow the rules. And if they need any help and have some questions about Smeeter, they can ask OPs or guides– we are always happy to help.
Smeet: One last thing, just for fun, please share with us your favourite Lithuathian saying.
Wild Child: Žodis – ne žvirblis. The word – A sparrow
Keep up the good work, WildChild and thank you for being a great example for other Smeeters!
